SUMMARY
There are many different ways to tell each story so in the following summary i might mention a
couples of possibilities.
Aesop was once a slave and a rather famous story teller of Ancient Greece during around 620 and
520 BCE. He "escaped" being a slave by telling his masters his fables, they were amused and let
him go. His death:
Aesop was accused of temple theft, stealing figs. Aesop threw up to show he had not had any figs
that day and then geustured for the servants to throw up. they did and it revealed the theives!
Aesop also traveled from Babylon to Greece. In Delphi, the magestrates plotted to shame and kill
him. Planting a gold cup in his baggage, they found it, identified it as stolen from a temple, and
convicted Aesop of theft. Aesop tried to talk his way out of it with a series of fables, but it did not
work. In this account he was thrown from a cliff to his death!
In the another accusation, a magistrate saw Aesop on the street and asked him where he was
going. Aesop answered, "I don't know."
This annoyed the magistrate who ordered him to be taken to prison. As he was being taken away
Aesop replied, "You see I told the truth. I didn't know I was going to prison." Amused, the
magistrate let him go.
